The Sikh Parade

I love this parade! The colors and textures of the clothes always excite me. And the food excites me too if you are lucky enough to get there before the huge throngs of people overwhelm the food stations. It gets very crowded. But it looks like they are having a good time and really enjoying coming together and celebrating their community. I could have stayed in this madness for much longer if the company I was with had not been complaining of claustrophobia.

Trees and Trains

I am in love with Live Oaks and Magnolia trees and the sound of the train in the distance as I sit in silence in the back yard or inside in my room at my grandmother's house. Something melancholy and sentimental about the sounds of the trains throughout the day. And Magnolia's were my favorite tree's to climb when I was a child. Live Oaks make me swoon with their magnificence and strength.

Sanctuary For The Senses

The Fort Worth Botanical Gardens is a favorite. We happened to go on a day with no wind or humidity or heat. The day was just right for visiting. I love the contrast of the lushness and green-ness of Japanese Garden compared to the other areas of the Botanical Gardens. You walk into this little jewel and forget you have just stepped away from huge live oaks and sprawling park space into this quiet and serene little sanctuary for the senses.
