As I was walking by I thought this would be a nice image to throw up today. I was hoping there would also be some nice fellas with their rides to photograph as well. Only one nice fella and no ride. I was reprimanded by one of the Angels for photographing this planter. He said I was only allowed to photograph the door and keep on moving, thank you. He didn't have much interest in me or what I was saying or doing and thought better not to ask if I could take a picture of his pretty face. Alas, maybe another day.
I love Molly's! I am so lucky to have Molly's in the neighborhood and nearby because it never disappoints. It always has the most diverse crowd for being an Irish pub. It is on Third Ave, between 22/23 streets. We had Shepherd's Pie for dinner and hit the spot on a cold winter's Christmas day. The fire was going and the people were happy. And so festive with all the lights they strung everywhere. Easy.
I took my son to Trash & Vaudeville because I knew he would love it and I thought it would be a fun trip down memory lane. Of course, he loved it and found many items he wanted! Oh no!!! We had a blast and will be going back soon I am sure.
This is one of my favorite bookstores in NY. Cozy, small and worn but organized and very well edited. I recommend for classics and current fiction. It's important we support the small bookstores and help keep them in business. Three Lives.
This is one of my most favorite stores in NY. BDDW. Everything is handmade and so simply pure and gorgeous. I am always inspired by the atmosphere when I walk in here. I appreciate the stark yet warm visual and tactile environment. I am particularly liking the juxtaposition of the antiquated machines with the interpreted simple and modern handmade, organic furniture and textiles. Mom made the "shrunken heads". There is also now a man from Vermont who has his handmade motorcycles for sale as well. Stone barns for sale... All so beautifully crafted and thoughtful.
Happy Holidays! I will be trying to give you as many posts as I can pertaining to the decorations and festivities of the merry, merry yule tide season in NYC!!! How does it always occur before I am ready? I put up my tree tonight with my son and we played Christmas music on repeat. It was quite festive. As soon as it is completely ready to view i will definitely give you a special preview! XOXO
Vladimir Feltsman, Piano. I went to Carnegie Hall on Friday night and heard the most beautiful concert performed by Vladimir Feltsman. He performed Franz Schubert, Sonata in B-flat major, D 960 (1828). It was lovely and I tried to sneak some photos for you because no photography allowed.
Tim Burton Nov 22, 2009 - Apr 26, 2010. Tim Burton And The Lurid Beauty Of Monsters. This show was a lot of fun! There will be a series of screenings of the films that inspired and intrigued Burton. Also there will be screenings of all Burton's films and a series of Educational and Interactive programs associated with the show. I would have shown you more images except there were no photographs allowed.
