When all you want and need is a simple place to kick it old school style. All walks of life pass through for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not much to really say about the Waverly except I hope it stays around.

The Strand

The Strand is definitely one of the best places to visit and hang around in New York! Miles and miles of books and very a knowledgeable staff. They are super nice and super helpful and really enjoy being there and doing what they do. I highly recommend an afternoon here or anytime of day actually. They have rare editions, collectibles, trashy paper backs for a dollar outside, current fiction and non. Art books at discounted prices. Classsics... Enjoy!

This is why we love NYC

Today was one of those days in NY that was perfect. Perfect because the weather is blessing us. Clear skies and puffy clouds and amazing bright orange sunsets. Cool breezes and smiling faces. I am trying to take you around NY and show you all the places I love and all the things I think are worth seeing and doing. So much of the old NY is disappearing and I miss all the signage from the past. Eisenberg's is also in the neighborhood and God knows how much longer it will be around. So much fun here!! Also the best day to go to Governor's Island. This is such a pleasure and so easy to get to and do. Highly recommend this excursion. Enjoy!

met up with some friends for an always exciting and good time at the san gennaro festival in little italy. will probably go back tomorrow since it is over in a few days and try to capture some more images of people. there are many fascinating characters to look at and revel in their oddities. enjoy the sights and smells via my images.

this is new to the neighborhood and i simply adore hanging out here. i have stayed here as well. the staff is the friendliest there is in the city. the lobby is the most comfortable hotel lobby i know of in the city. the new stumptown coffee shop also opened this week. a great place to enjoy with friends or by yourself. the aesthetics are comforting and soothing.
